COVID 19 INFO

Dear Guests,

We're currently working hard to ensure that we minimise the risk of infection spread, so that you can enjoy a relaxing break during this Covid 19 pandemic. Our small site of only 2 cabins makes it the perfect destination to enjoy a short break as restrictions are lifted. We take the health of you, our guests and our staff very seriously.

We have achieved the We're Good To Go mark showing we are meeting the tourism industry standards for social distancing and cleanliness.

When you book a stay with us, you will be able to receive all the information needed via our digital guest book. This includes information about how to find us, instructions on use of the BBQ and sauna cabins, general information about the site itself,  things to see and do, and WiFi code. There will be no written information for you to handle on the site, therefore reducing the risk of infection. Our digital guest book can be downloaded onto your phone and this will be sent to you 14 days before your arrival date. You can print any information you need before you arrive and it works in locations without mobile reception. We also have a digital registration form which will be sent out the day before you arrive, for you to complete.

You will receive a code to allow you to open the electric gates on arrival and there will be a guided self check in with a key lock-box that will be disinfected allowing you to socially distance on arrival.

We have 2 log cabins that are fully self contained and are about 20 metres apart, allowing for easy social distancing. Each cabin will have its own outdoor space and facilities such as kitchen, en-suite shower, decking, hot tub, fire bowl and seating. There will be sanitising stations around the site.

Our enhanced cleaning programme is being developed. We are ensuring all surfaces and contents will be disinfected after each stay by our cleaners who will be using PPE. Towels, pillows, duvet and mattress protectors and all bedding will be washed between each stay.

Each unit has it's own dishwasher and all crockery, cutlery etc.. will be washed on a high temperature cycle between each stay.

The hot tub will be drained and thoroughly cleaned before arrival.

The BBQ cabin will need to be booked in 2 hour sessions and the sauna cabin in 1 hour sessions. There will be a 30 minute slot between sessions for cleaning and disinfecting of the BBQ cabin and sauna cabin. There will be an allocated picnic table available for each cabin to use near the BBQ cabin.

By the canal there will be allocated seating for each cabin to use during their stay.  Also there is a raised area with seating allowing you the enjoy the beautiful sunset and open countryside views, each cabin will have its own bench in this area. The seating areas will be well spaced apart.

We kindly ask that people do not attend for their stay if they have any symptoms of Covid 19 (cough, fever or changes to their smell or taste) or had Covid 19 in the last 10 days or have been in contact with anyone who has had symptoms of Covid 19 or Covid 19 within the proceeding 14 days before their stay. If you do develop symptoms before or during your stay please inform us immediately by telephone.

We also ask that everyone who arrives at Hawthorn Hideaway scans the QR code using the NHS Covid App.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Best wishes,

Hawthorn Hideaway

A GUEST PERSPECTIVE

"Hawthorne Hideaway A lovely bolt hole with lots of scrumptious treats and activities. We booked a duo massage (sublime), afternoon tea (generous variety and even included a bunch of daffodils!), sauna (fabulous) and BBQ hut with hamper (high quality and so lavish, we had the chops and enough vegetables for dinner the following night). All highly recommended. We enjoyed walks along the canal and in the ground’s illuminated woodland. An evening glass of fizz by the water’s edge & hot tub bubbles under the stars. Our lodge (we stayed in The Swan) was cosy and had plenty of quality fittings; comfy bed, log burner, super shower and the kitchen was fitted with all the basics. The breakfast hamper provided enough for at least two breakfasts (we enhanced with extra teabags). There are too many positives to list and it’s probably nice to leave a few surprises for future guests to discover for themselves. A big thank you to Sarah, the site team and local suppliers, but especially to Josephine for your warmth and hospitality and being on hand for us when needed. We will return for another adventure soon. Kind regards, Angela and Paul"
