We are lucky to be located in a diverse location in the Nottinghamshire countryside, with a South Yorkshire postcode, yet only minutes from Lincolnshire. A quiet and peaceful woodland location awaits you.
Relax with our couples spa experience, an indulgent couples massage or enjoy a delightful, private dining experience for two in our cosy yurt, boat trips, private couples photo shoots and more, so many ways to spoil yourselves at Hawthorn Hideaway, magical memories that will stay with you forever.
We are a small, intimate, dedicated, family run business providing luxury accommodation for couples - 2 lodges with hot tubs - Owl and Swan Lodge as well as Kingfisher our special Narrowboat with a hot tub.

Really sorry to say but no pets, due to our chickens, ducks and other wildlife. We are animal lovers too, and we do have an arrangement with a very comfy dog hotel nearby, just ask for details - we totally understand this isn't for everyone.

Hawthorn Hideaway leads directly onto Brickyard Lane which is on a quiet public bridleway used by cyclists, walkers and horse riders, all of whom should be given priority over cars. It leads to a small bridge over which the canal towpath is reached. The chance to enjoy miles of quiet countryside, right on your door step, while enjoying our romantic hot tub breaks South Yorkshire, along the scenic Chesterfield Canal.
"Would recommend the added extras, ordered afternoon tea which was gorgeous. We also had the BBQ pack and skippered trip out, this was absolutely fantastic, it took the pressure off trying to manage ourselves so no arguing while having the fun of taking the boat out. It all made for a lovely weekend."

"We had a lovely 3 night stay at the Swan Lodge and wish we could have stayed for longer. The location was idyllic, the service was 5 star, nothing was too much trouble for Josephine, such a lovely lady. The bed was like sleeping in a giant marshmallow and the hot tub was perfect for unwinding. My husband and I booked the couples massage and me being short, I felt like I’d grown a couple of inches afterwards, it was soooo relaxing. But the highlight of our stay had to be the chickens, running up to greet us in the mornings was just mesmerising, the perfect medicine to switch off from all the stresses of life. Hawthorn Hideaway is a hidden gem!"

"Hawthorne Hideaway A lovely bolt hole with lots of scrumptious treats and activities. We booked a duo massage (sublime), afternoon tea (generous variety and even included a bunch of daffodils!), sauna (fabulous) and BBQ hut with hamper (high quality and so lavish, we had the chops and enough vegetables for dinner the following night). All highly recommended. We enjoyed walks along the canal and in the ground’s illuminated woodland. An evening glass of fizz by the water’s edge & hot tub bubbles under the stars. Our lodge (we stayed in The Swan) was cosy and had plenty of quality fittings; comfy bed, log burner, super shower and the kitchen was fitted with all the basics. The breakfast hamper provided enough for at least two breakfasts (we enhanced with extra teabags). There are too many positives to list and it’s probably nice to leave a few surprises for future guests to discover for themselves. A big thank you to Sarah, the site team and local suppliers, but especially to Josephine for your warmth and hospitality and being on hand for us when needed.
